Was it spooky enough? - Part II

Chitra jumped out of her make shift arrangement, picked the heavy spoon thrown on the ground and kept it back on the rack. They did discuss but then concluded, might be the spoon was kept indiscriminately on top of the casserole pot. Chitra was silent. They went back to sleep.

Morning at 7, they woke up. Chitra was already awake and done with her morning rituals as a habitual early riser. Four of them sat with their cups of tea. Chitra spoke, 'Umm... the spoon was not kept on top of the pot. I was the last one to have food yesterday night. I remember very well, I had kept it near the pot towards inside, in a horizontal position with its face turned down. And it was hurled on the floor in an upside down position too, but in a straight vertical orientation. Moreover, I was awake for some time as I could hear someone constantly walking near us. I thought must be one of you but when I looked up, I found none.' 'Wait. I heard the bathroom door being thumped with something heavy. I woke up again but you all were asleep.' Pranamika interrupted with her usual overly loud expressions. 'Well, after we all slept, I had the nature call. And when I returned back to bed, I heard some footsteps on the ceiling (which was wooden) like sound of someone walking wearing high heels.' Ujjaini spoke with a heavy voice. Ananya was listening everything but did not speak as she had felt nothing and had slept peacefully.

After the serious discussions and some jokes, they got ready to depart back home. Chitra shrieked as soon as they were about to leave, 'girls, my smart watch is half broken. How is that possible? It was kept just on the table last night by me.' They were shocked and scared.

Without wasting much time, they left the place on their car. As soon as they left the homestay, a few meters apart, say 500, their car halted without notice. They called everywhere, but as the distance was too far, getting help was not possible. Surprisingly, it was a vehicle bought just a year ago and fully serviced before their sojourn. After about half an hour, it did took up the start itself without any expert's help and they left home unhappily, terrified. The creepiness was yet not over though.

Chitra barged to her home to meet her son after a gap of more than 24 hrs which was so long for a mother. She found both her husband and son staring at the TV. The husband spoke, 'what happened to the TV? It stopped working suddenly, just now.'

They had to buy a new one.
