A DESIRE TO BURN

It is never easy to start something new, especially if it’s your long-lost hidden passion. But, once you make up your mind to give wings to this fervent burning desire, it may be answered with certitude that nothing comes amid. The monotony of our day-to-day existence pushes the desires that were always embedded somewhere in the farthest corner of our mind and heart, which have certainly been lost in memory.

The evocation of this fervent memory burgeons at some point in life when we regret not achieving it earlier, and for pursuing something that was never our sphere of concern. This little sprout germinated from the intense thoughts of our mind starts putting out its shoots. Here, the mind plays a trick, making the individual vulnerable both emotionally and mentally. The ploy is to make us comfortable in the present unbothered ‘sphere of concern’, both financially and physically, and then make us regret not pursuing our desires. Those who can rise from this delusional trap have achieved great heights in their lives, no matter how many failures they had to stand up for. Still, they thrived and pursued what their heart spoke about.

But what about those who have not been able to gather the courage to unleash their actual potential and have randomly decided to flow with the uninterested area of concern? We cannot judge them as cowards or opportunists. They have their own reasons for not fighting for their desires. The desire to consider doing something radical needs innovation, courage and most importantly, financial independence, which is always directly proportional to the needs to be fulfilled concurrently, and the calculated risks might not take us to the pinnacles.

Conventional societal norms often prohibit us from doing the ‘right thing’, which they consider as the ‘wrong thing’. And standing up in this turmoil of doing the right or the wrong, life becomes a thing of the past and we are gone with unreserved wishes.

Notwithstanding, are we ready to burn ourselves to be able to fulfil those desires? The foremost consideration should be to question ourselves whether we are ready to churn ourselves in every aspect to fulfil those yearnings and rise above, and again as a phoenix, as and when necessitated, never to lose hope and never to fear the failures. At least the beginning with baby steps can be assumed, which might not be the zenith, but will certainly be gratification for our mind and heart, which is undoubtedly restless and is questioning our worth often.
